UPDATE (October 30, 2025): Samsung has resumed the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy M53. The update is now rolling out with the build version M536SKSSBGYJ1. The original article published on October 20, 2025, follows.

Exactly five weeks have passed since Samsung kicked off the stable One UI 8 rollout. During this time, it has pushed the update to more than 60 different Galaxy models. However, a few models are now seeing unexpected delays. The Galaxy M53 is the latest to have its One UI 8 rollout abruptly pulled from servers.

Samsung pauses One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy M53 with explanation

Based on Android 16, One UI 8 arrived much faster than its predecessor. Samsung’s deployment pace has notably improved this year, though the update still has some ground to cover. However, not all Galaxy users have enjoyed the smooth rollout. A few models have seen their updates paused or even pulled from the official servers shortly after release.

The Galaxy Z Fold SE was the first to encounter this unexpected hiccup. Shortly after that, Samsung paused the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S22. While it resumed the update in some regions, others are still awaiting a re-release. The Galaxy S24 series also faced a similar issue recently, with the update pulled almost a month after the initial rollout.

Samsung has yet to resume the rollout for the 2024 flagships. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M53 has now seen its One UI 8 update suddenly paused. According to firmware tracker Mohammed Khatri, Korean users can no longer download the One UI 8 build for this mid-range smartphone. The company hasn’t officially explained the pauses, but they likely stem from last-minute stability issues or region-specific bugs.

However, the unexpected delays affecting multiple devices have raised concerns among users. Hopefully, Samsung will resolve these issues soon and complete the One UI 8 rollout in the coming weeks. With One UI 8.5 beta testing expected to begin in late October, finishing the current rollout beforehand would help avoid overlap and unnecessary confusion.
