At the company’s second Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung’s upcoming Flip phone could debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, likely in mid-2025. Word on the street is that we might also see the Galaxy Flip 7 FE or even a multi-fold device. But when it comes to the nitty-gritty details about these two, things are still pretty hush-hush. Which is, of course, aside from a few rumored tweaks and shipment numbers. That said, the alleged prototype of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is already spilling the beans months before its official debut.
Here’s what Galaxy Z Flip 7 “prototype” promises to pack
The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 could feature a dual-camera setup on the rear: 50MP + 12MP. That’s according to both @PandaFlashPro and GalaxyClub, which shared the details a few days ago. The rumored camera setup seems similar to its predecessor, but we might see some upgrades in image processing.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 packed a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset. But the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to come with an Exynos 2500 chipset. If that happens, it’ll be Samsung’s first device to house an in-house 3nm chipset. However, @PandaFlashPro also mentions that a second prototype hints at a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. If that’s the case, Galaxy Z Flip 7 could pack both Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite in different markets.
Even if the Galaxy Z Flip 7 (or the Galaxy Z Fold 7) uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite, it’ll likely be a trimmed-down version with one less core compared to what’s in the Galaxy S25 series. That’s because the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite is specifically designed for foldables.
It may feature an Armor Aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which we’ve already seen in its predecessor. This aligns with earlier reports suggesting that Samsung may not change the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 majorly. So what do you think about these changes?
