The One UI 7.0 beta is here, rolling out on the Galaxy S24 series (except the FE model) in select countries. As expected, it brings a host of new features, which we’ve already covered in our One UI 7.0 section. The update introduces a mix of major and minor tweaks. Customization and privacy once again take center stage.
One UI 7.0 has a new color picker for folders
If you fancy customizing your device to make it feel more personal, we’re happy to report that the One UI 7.0 beta introduces a new color picker tool for folders. This handy addition allows you to pick any color on your screen and apply that shade to your folders in just a few simple steps. It’s a neat feature that helps bring your device closer to your style.
Most of us have a favorite color — like blue, but not just any blue. It’s the bright, fresh one, like the sky before it rains. With so many shades, it’s easy to feel lost. But if you had a picture of the exact shade, wouldn’t that help?
It’s super simple. Just tap the new eyedropper tool in the color picker, pick the exact shade you want, and give your folder its unique personality. Honestly, only a small group might care about this change, but it’s a nice touch.
It’s not a trade-off; it’s a super addition
Other than this new addition, everything else stays the same. You can still enter HEX codes, adjust transparency, and more. Plus, the shades you pick are saved under Recently used colors, letting you keep up to five favorites handy.
That said, I’m genuinely impressed by how many updates One UI 7.0 beta brings. Keep in mind, though, this is just the beta version. The stable version hasn’t rolled out yet, so we might see even more changes around the time of Galaxy Unpacked. It’s slated to take place on January 22 in San Francisco.
