Samsung may launch a new Fan Edition (FE) tablet in the first half of 2025. The company is reportedly testing the Galaxy Tab S10 FE with an improved rear camera. References to the unreleased tablet also recently appeared on Samsung’s official website, offering hints about its release timeline.
Galaxy Tab S10 FE is on the way with a camera update
In recent years, Samsung has typically launched new flagship Android tablets roughly every one-and-a-half year. However, the release of the Galaxy Tab S10 series in 2024 came just a year after the Tab S9, pushing back the FE lineup. While the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ debuted in October 2023, there has been no word yet on the Tab S10 FE series.
That changes today, with a report from GalaxyClub confirming the ongoing development of the new FE tablets. Samsung is reportedly testing the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE 5G with model numbers SM-X520 and SM-X526B, respectively — Tab S9 FE was SM-X510 and Tab S9 FE 5G was SM-X526B.
A Plus model is currently missing from the lineup. While this doesn’t necessarily mean Samsung has scrapped it — the device may still be in development — we won’t rule out the possibility. The company has been streamlining its tablet offerings, dropping the base Galaxy Tab S10 model this year. It only launched the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra.
That said, Samsung recently named the “Tab S10 FE series” on its official website — in footnotes detailing the terms for a promotional campaign. It now appears to have retracted the premature reference to the unreleased tablets, but the company saying “Tab S10 FE series” hints at the existence of at least one more model.
More importantly, the terms say the promotion is “open to participants in the United States who purchase and activate a Tab S10 series, or Tab S10 FE series device by 7/31/2025,” suggesting that Samsung will release the new Fan Edition tablets before the end of July 2025. Or maybe it was a mistake rather than a premature listing, only time will tell.
A camera upgrade is on the cards
The Dutch publication confirms that the Galaxy Tab S10 FE will sport a 12MP rear camera, an upgrade from an 8MP sensor on the Tab S9 FE. Everything else is under wraps, so we can’t tell what other changes are on the cards. But if you are on the lookout for a new tablet, Samsung is offering attractive Black Friday deals on its flagship and budget offerings.
