Samsung has already updated a handful of flagship Galaxy S series and some mid-range Galaxy A smartphones to the October 2024 security patch. Now, the company has started rolling out the October 2024 security update for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A53 smartphones. The update for these devices is currently rolling out in select parts of the world and will soon reach all regions.
Galaxy A52 and A53 are finally getting their October 2024 security update
According to SamMobile, Samsung is rolling out the October 2024 security update to the Galaxy A52 and A53 globally. For the Galaxy A52, the update has been released in parts of Asia and Europe. It comes with the firmware version “A525FXXS9FXJ1”. As for the Galaxy A53, the update is rolling out in Europe and carries the “A536BXXSCEXIA” firmware build number. Samsung is expected to roll it out to users in the US in the coming weeks.
The updated fixes over 40 security vulnerabilities in the Galaxy A52 and A53
Samsung’s latest October 2024 security update for the Galaxy A52 and A53 doesn’t bring any new major features. It fixes more than 40 security vulnerabilities found in these Samsung smartphones. The update is rolling out over the air in a phased manner, so not all the units of these phones will get it right away. You can always check if the update is available for your phone by going to Settings > Software update, and tapping the Download and install button.
For the uninitiated, the Galaxy A52 was launched in 2021 with Android 11 and received the Android 12 update in late 2021. It was updated to Android 13 in 2022 and Android 14 by the end of 2023. As for the Galaxy A53, it arrived in 2022 with the Android 22 version. It was updated to Android 13 in late 2022. The same phone received the Android 14 update by the end of 2033. Now, they have received their latest October security update and are now more secure than ever.
