Samsung continues to make its Galaxy devices intelligent companions that help users in their day-to-day lives. As the company prepares to unveil the next chapter of foldable innovations at the upcoming Unpacked event, TM Roh (CEO and President of Samsung Electronics) has outlined AI’s role in the Galaxy ecosystem.
Samsung’s AI ecosystem aims to understand users better
In his editorial, TM Roh said AI no longer just answers questions. Instead, it is stepping into an agentic era, taking actions on behalf of users while leaving the final decision to them. So, it is important for AI to first understand the user’s needs, habits, and preferences. “The best AI experiences will come from the devices that know the user best,” Roh added.
Samsung has spent years making an ecosystem that connects its devices to offer personalized AI experiences. The company’s smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs, and connected home appliances help AI better understand users and fulfill their needs. For example, sleep data from Galaxy Watch allows AI to suggest a better schedule for the next day. Basically, AI works quietly in the background and delivers timely assistance.
Samsung is building its AI ecosystem through openness and collaboration. The company’s SmartThings connects devices, services, and partners to offer better AI experiences. However, AI must also be trustworthy. Thanks to Samsung Knox, Galaxy devices and the connections between them remain secure.
The form factor also matters for more personal and capable AI. Foldable smartphones offer users more screen space and remain compact enough to fit in a pocket. “The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked is where we will show what’s next in bringing all this together: more personal, natural AI experiences on a foundation more partners can build on,” said Roh.
The next era of AI will not be about having the smartest AI. It will be about understanding people best and earning their trust. Samsung will host Galaxy Unpacked on July 22 in London. The company is expected to debut its next-gen foldables, which could include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8. It may also unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. Reservations are now live with exciting perks.
