Samsung’s next budget Galaxy phones are getting closer to launch. A few days ago, the Galaxy A08 received its Wi-Fi Alliance certification. Now, the device has appeared in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database alongside its Galaxy M and Galaxy F variants, suggesting an official announcement may not be far away.
Galaxy A08 and its siblings pick up BIS approval ahead of launch
The latest BIS listing includes the following devices:
- Galaxy A08 — SM-A085F/DS
- Galaxy F08 — SM-E085F/DS
- Galaxy M08 —SM-M085F/DS
As usual, the certification itself doesn’t reveal any specifications, but it confirms Samsung is preparing all three devices for the Indian market. The “/DS” suffix indicates dual-SIM support. All three models are LTE-only, with no cellular 5G support, though this doesn’t necessarily mean Samsung doesn’t plan a 5G version of one or all of them.
As mentioned above, the Galaxy A08 also recently received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance, confirming support for dual-band Wi-Fi. While Samsung hasn’t officially revealed any hardware details yet, certifications typically start appearing shortly before an announcement. Expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks, though budget phones typically do not get much attention from leakers.
Like previous generations, Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy F08 and Galaxy M08 as variants of the Galaxy A08 with slight changes, tailored to certain market demands. They should share most of the same hardware while targeting different online retailers and markets. Besides India, the devices should also arrive in a few other regions.
Samsung hasn’t announced a launch date yet, but the growing number of certifications suggests the Galaxy A08, Galaxy F08, and Galaxy M08 are steadily approaching their debut. We will keep you posted.
