Samsung’s next budget phone is moving closer to launch. After appearing in the GSMA database in April, the Galaxy A08 has cleared yet another major regulatory certification. As spotted by folks over at 91Mobiles, the Galaxy A08 has now been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance database with the model number SM-A085F/DS.
Galaxy A08 Wi-Fi Alliance certification hints launch isn’t far away
If anything, the latest certification brings the Galaxy A08 one step closer to launch, with Samsung steadily checking off the required regulatory approvals. As usual, the Wi-Fi Alliance listing doesn’t reveal any hardware details beyond Wi-Fi support and the model number. Even so, its appearance suggests the Galaxy A08 is moving through the final stages of certification.

The Galaxy A08 will succeed the Galaxy A07 as Samsung’s next entry-level Galaxy A series smartphone. Samsung introduced the Galaxy A07 in August 2025, so the company could stick to its annual refresh cycle and unveil its successor around the same time this year. If the current pace of certifications continues, an official launch may not be far off.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed the Galaxy A08’s hardware yet, but the Galaxy A07 offers a good indication of what to expect. The older model features a 6.74-inch HD+ 90Hz display, a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, a 50MP dual rear camera system, an 8MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The Galaxy A08 could bring a newer chipset and camera improvements while keeping the same overall formula.
