Samsung’s upcoming foldables have dominated the rumor mill in recent weeks, and the leaks are only getting more detailed as launch day approaches. A new report has now revealed nearly the complete hardware specs of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, covering everything from its displays and dimensions to its cameras, battery, and charging speeds. We also get another look at the device in all four rumored color options.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs revealed by a trusted leaker
The latest report, coming from reliable tipster Ahmed Qwaider, confirms earlier leaks that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide) will feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable inner screen. The outer display uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, while the internal panel adopts a tablet-like 4:3 aspect ratio. Both are Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The handset allegedly measures 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm when folded and 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm when unfolded. Despite a sizeable footprint, the device weighs just 201 grams, making it the lightest Galaxy Z Fold model to date. And this comes without substantial compromises, as the leak confirms a 4,800mAh battery with Super Fast Charging 2.0. This basically means 45W wired charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 does compromise in the camera department, though. It lacks a zoom unit. Samsung is offering a dual-camera system with a 50MP primary camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Selfies and video calls will be handled by 10MP lenses on the cover display and the foldable inner display. Both use a punch-hole design rather than under-display cameras.
Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. Samsung will pair the SoC with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. Color options may include Lavender, Cream, Pistachio, and Graphite, though there could be more.
As always, you should take leaked specs with a degree of caution until Samsung makes everything official. However, with multiple reports pointing to similar hardware, the picture of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is becoming increasingly clear.
