A few days ago, we came across a mysterious Galaxy smartphone on the Wi-Fi Alliance database. The certification only revealed its model number, without mentioning the commercial name or any hardware details. At the time, it was enough to confirm that Samsung was preparing another Galaxy A series device, but not much else.

After Wi-Fi certification, Galaxy A07s shows up in the GSMA IMEI database

After some digging, we concluded that the device was most likely the Galaxy A07s. That was an interesting discovery, as Samsung hasn’t launched an “s” variant in the Galaxy A0x lineup for the past few generations. If our assumption was correct, it would signal the return of the Galaxy A “s” branding.

Now, another certification has added more credibility to that theory. The same model number (SM-A077F/DS) has appeared in the GSMA IMEI database as Galaxy A07s. This is the first official database to associate the model number with the device’s commercial name.

As noted by Ovrplus, the “F” suffix indicates that this is the international variant of the phone, while “DS” confirms dual SIM support. As usual, the IMEI listing doesn’t reveal any specifications, but its timing suggests development is progressing as expected.

With both the Wi-Fi Alliance and GSMA IMEI certifications now out of the way, the Galaxy A07s is likely moving closer to launch. More certifications, benchmark listings, and hardware details should surface in the weeks ahead.
