Samsung Supports Career Pathways Through Device Repair Training

Samsung aims to prepare students for careers in the technology industry through device repair training. The company is working with schools, industry groups, and local communities so students can gain technical skills. This will create career opportunities as well as support the need for skilled repair technicians.
Samsung helps students and job seekers access device repair training
In recent years, smartphones have become more advanced with cutting-edge hardware and AI capabilities. As a result, the industry needs more skilled technicians to repair and support these devices. Samsung Care is supporting programs that help students learn to repair and create career pathways. For this effort, the company lets students earn industry-recognized credentials.
For example, the WISE (Wireless Industry Service Excellence) certification program boosts foundational skills for mobile device repair across manufacturers and service providers. In a recent Smartphone Repair Bootcamp, more than 30 students from the Frisco Independent School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program got hands-on experience in device repair. They also received training toward WISE Level 1 certification.
Now, Samsung plans to host a Smartphone & Device Repair Career Fair on June 18 in Plano, Texas. For the program, the company teamed up with the Texas Economic Development Department and CTIA. The event will connect job seekers with employers in areas such as device repair, mobile technology, and robotics.
Samsung’s workforce development efforts include its “Behind the Glass” educational program. This gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s repair operations in Frisco, Texas. Moreover, the Korean firm also works with schools, community organizations, and local leaders across North Texas to support career pathways. These include Frisco ISD’s CTE program, Plano ISD’s CTE program, Girl Scouts, and Texas Native Health.
“These initiatives reflect Samsung Care’s commitment to supporting the communities where our employees and customers live and work, while creating pathways from skills development to career opportunities,” said the company.
