Samsung is developing a Pro flagship for 2027. The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to bring many of the S27 Ultra’s premium features to a more compact size. The goal is to offer a true high-end Galaxy phone for users who find the Ultra too large but don’t want to compromise on features by choosing the base or Plus model. A new leak adds weight to that strategy, claiming the Galaxy S27 Pro could pack an Ultra-sized battery.

Galaxy S27 Pro tipped to feature a 5,000mAh battery

According to the latest information circulating online, the Galaxy S27 Pro could launch with a 5,000mAh battery despite featuring a relatively compact 6.47-inch display. If accurate, the device might address one of the biggest concerns for compact smartphone buyers. This year’s Galaxy S26, for example, is almost as big as the upcoming Pro with a 6.3-inch screen. However, it only packs a 4,300mAh cell.

While this could also mean that the Galaxy S27 Ultra finally moves beyond the long-standing 5,000mAh ceiling (potentially going up to 5,500mAh or more), that’s not the main point here. It’s Samsung offering a sizeable battery on the S27 Pro, the best thing after the Ultra. Hopefully, the phone will also get 60W or faster charging (that’s the fastest Samsung has gone so far).

The Korean firm could make this happen with clever choices across the device. The Galaxy S27 Pro is highly likely to lack S Pen support (it’s a phone squarely aimed at those who want an Ultra-like phone without S Pen). Moreover, Samsung could opt for a single zoom lens here. Instead of two separate modules with 3x and 5x optical zoom, the S27 Pro could settle for a middleground, somewhere around 3.5x.

Overall, the introduction of a Pro model would give Samsung a more diverse flagship portfolio. It perfectly fills the gap between the current Plus and Ultra models. Expect more leaks in the coming months.
