Breaking! One UI 8.5 Rollout Begins for Galaxy S23 FE

Shortly after the main Galaxy S23 flagships, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update is available for the S23 FE as well. The company is currently rolling out the update in Korea, but a global release should follow soon. It is also expected to release One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 this week.

Galaxy S23 FE gets One UI 8.5 in Korea

Samsung has been pushing One UI 8.5 to eligible Galaxy devices in batches. The first wave introduced the new version to its 2025 flagships, including foldbales. Then, in the second wave, the company rolled out the update for 2024 models. Today, Samsung kicked off the third wave, with One UI 8.5 now reaching its 2023 Galaxy S smartphones.

As of this writing, the Galaxy S23 FE is getting the big update in Korea with firmware version EZDT. Samsung will gradually roll out One UI 8.5 for the entire S23 lineup in other regions. The build version may vary by market, but the content remains the same.

Speaking of which, One UI 8.5 delivers one of Samsung’s biggest software refinements in recent years. The update focuses heavily on visual polish and usability, introducing a cleaner design language with translucent UI effects, redesigned navigation elements, smoother animations, and improved multitasking.

Samsung has also upgraded several stock apps and expanded Galaxy AI capabilities, alongside enhancements to Quick Share, privacy, accessibility, and system customization. While some advanced AI tools remain limited to flagship Galaxy devices, One UI 8.5 still brings a more modern, fluid, and feature-rich experience across the broader Galaxy ecosystem.

After the Galaxy S23 FE, One UI 8.5 should roll out to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, which launched in 2023 too. Samsung is also expected to bring One UI 8.5 to more mid-range models in the coming weeks, having released the update for the Galaxy A56 earlier today. We will keep you posted.
