Samsung has begun the third wave of its One UI 8.5 rollout, and this one brings the update to mid-range devices. The Galaxy A56 is now picking up the big update in Korea, with more Galaxy A models likely to join soon. A global rollout may begin in the coming days.

Galaxy A56 gets the stable One UI 8.5 update

Samsung kicked off the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 early this month, with its 2025 foldables leading the charge. Last week, it released the update for the 2023 Galaxy S and Galaxy Z models. Now, the third wave is underway, bringing One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy S23 lineup, which launched in 2023. At the same time, the update is also rolling out for mid-range models, starting with the Galaxy A56.

Korean A56 units are picking up One UI 8.5 with the firmware build version CZDR (via X/@tarunvats33). The update should gradually expand to other regions over the next few days. Additionally, Samsung should bring One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy A55, A36, A35, and other mid-range devices in the coming weeks.

One UI 8.5 brings a refreshed visual style, smoother animations, deeper Quick Panel customization, and several new Galaxy AI features. The update also introduces redesigned navigation elements, improved multitasking, upgraded calling and photo-editing tools, and better cross-device connectivity features, like enhanced Quick Share support.

Samsung has also improved security, accessibility, and system fluidity across the interface. While some advanced AI features remain exclusive to flagship Galaxy devices, mid-range phones still receive many usability and design improvements through One UI 8.5. If you are using a Galaxy A56, watch out for One UI 8.5 in the coming days. You can check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
