Dua Lipa is taking Samsung to court over what she claims was an unauthorized marketing move that used her image to sell TVs. The pop star has filed a lawsuit seeking $15 million in damages, accusing the company of exploiting her likeness without consent.

According to court filing, Samsung printed a photograph of Dua Lipa on its TV boxes. The image was allegedly captured during her appearance at the Austin City Limits Festival. Lipa says she wasn’t contacted for approval and didn’t agree to any licensing or endorsement arrangement tied to the campaign.

The filing says she later asked the company to stop using the image, but alleges the request wasn’t handled satisfactorily. Lipa argues that keeping her likeness on the packaging could confuse consumers about whether she endorsed the televisions.

The lawsuit includes claims such as copyright infringement, violation of publicity rights, and false endorsement under US trademark law. It also points to social media posts where some users suggested her image influenced their purchasing decisions, presented as an example of potential consumer perception.

As with any lawsuit, these claims are still allegations at this stage. Samsung hasn’t addressed the matter yet. This story will be updated once the company issues a public statement.
