Galaxy Z Flip 8 Charging and Battery Specs Could Be a Letdown

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 is beginning to take shape, but early leaks are not exciting. A fresh leak suggests that the next-gen clamshell foldable may not bring improvements in charging speed and battery capacity. This could disappoint fans who were expecting an upgrade in these areas.

Leak reveals Galaxy Z Flip 8’s charging and battery specs

According to tipster yeux1122, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may support 25W wired charging. This is the same speed seen in the previous Galaxy Z Flip models. Samsung bumped the charging speed from 15W in the Galaxy Z Flip 3 to 25W with the Flip 4 in 2022. Since then, subsequent models have stuck with the same charging speed.

While 25W charging still gets the job done, upgrading the charging speed on the Z Flip 8 would have been a welcome move. Meanwhile, there’s chatter that the next-gen book-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, could support 45W charging, an upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 25W. If this pans out, the two foldable lineups will now offer different charging speeds.

The tipster further suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may pack the same battery as its predecessor. This means the device could stick to a 4,300 mAh battery. Last year, with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung increased the battery capacity by 300 mAh. This year, however, the company may not offer any upgrades in this area.

The leak does not come as a surprise, as certification listings we spotted exclusively also pointed to the same specs. However, now we have confirmation from a notable tipster as well, suggesting Samsung is indeed sticking with the same approach for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
