Samsung appears to be testing its next-generation flagship mobile chip, the Exynos 2700. The chip recently appeared in a Geekbench benchmark listing, giving us an early insight into what the chip could offer. The company should use the processor in some models of the Galaxy S27 series, expected in Q1 2027.

Early benchmark suggests Exynos 2700 is still in the development stage

Spotted by @yabhishekhd, an unannounced Exynos chipset with model number S5E9975 recently appeared on Geekbench. This model number follows Samsung’s familiar naming convention, suggesting it is the upcoming Exynos 2700. The device used for testing is probably a prototype unit running Android 17 and 12GB of RAM.

According to the listing, the Exynos 2700 uses a deca-core CPU configuration. It includes 1 core running at 2.30GHz, 4 cores running at 2.40GHz, 1 core running at 2.78GHz, and 4 cores running at 2.88GHz. These clock speeds are nowhere close to the Exynos 2600, whose prime core runs at 3.80GHz, suggesting that the next-generation chip is still in the development stage.

In Geekbench CPU tests, the Exynos 2700 achieved 2,603 points in the single-core test and 10,350 points in the multi-core test. In January this year, an early Geekbench GPU benchmark also revealed an OpenCL score of 15,618 points. These CPU and GPU scores are also behind what the Exynos 2600 can achieve. This further confirms that we are looking at an early version, or the listing itself is fake.

Earlier, we also learned that the Exynos 2700 could use the Xclipse 970 GPU. The chip may use Samsung’s second-generation 2nm (SF2P) fabrication process with GAA transistor architecture. The company reportedly aims to begin production in the second half of the year. It should officially reveal the processor toward the end of this year.

The Galaxy S27 and S27+ models might use the next-generation chip in select markets, just like their predecessors. Or maybe the S27 Ultra will also run the new Exynos processor in some regions; we shall find out in the coming months.
