Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S24 FE. The new Fan Edition phone arrives with a handful of notable upgrades and expectedly costs more, but only just. The device is now up for pre-order and will ship in early October.
Galaxy S24 FE brings a bigger display and a newer processor
The Galaxy S24 FE features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display boasts a 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and supports HDR10+. With 1,900 nits of peak brightness, the screen should offer excellent visibility under direct sunlight. Not quite as bright as the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 2,600 nits, but it’s still quite bright.
Samsung has added a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ panel for display protection. The Galaxy S24 FE also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back. Coupled with an aluminum frame and IP68 dust and water resistance, the device has a strong build. It features a flagship design too, with the package including an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy S24 FE is quite powerful, thanks to the Exynos 2400e chipset. It’s an underclocked version of the Galaxy S24’s Exynos 2400. The 4nm deca-core chipset has a maximum CPU speed of 3.11GHz. It features two mid-cores at 2.90GHz, three at 2.59GHz, and four base cores at 1.96GHz. Samsung offers the phone in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants but the latter isn’t available widely.
Despite rumors of a 12GB RAM variant, the Galaxy S24 FE only comes with 8GB RAM in Vietnam. Maybe Samsung plans to release the phone with 12GB of RAM in select other markets later. It supports various Galaxy AI features like Poto Assist (Generative Edit), Instant Slo-mo, Live Translate, Portrait Studio, and more. We are looking at the most powerful FE phone yet.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the company didn’t change anything. It’s the same setup as the S23 FE, featuring a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP 3x zoom camera. A 4,700mAh battery fuels this phone and supports 25W wired charging paired with 15W wireless charging. The device also supports reverse wireless charging.
Android 14 out of the box
The Galaxy S24 FE runs Android 14 out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 (based on One UI 6.1.1) on top. The device is eligible for seven years of OS and security updates, the same as flagship models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Other highlights include Auto Blocker, Samsung Knox, Samsung Knox Vault, Samsung Knox Matrix, Passkey, Samsung DeX, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, USB Type-C, and OTG support. This phone also has stereo speakers.
Samsung offers the Galaxy S24 FE in Graphite, Blue, Silver, Green, and Yellow colors, though some color options may not be available globally.
