If you are a Samsung DeX user, you can now check out NexDock’s new lapdock. The company has recently launched its 6th-generation lapdock, NexDock 6, which improves the desktop experience. The latest model comes with a sharp screen, a responsive trackpad, and many other laptop features (but without the laptop itself).

NexDock 6 lets Samsung DeX users work like on a laptop

For the uninitiated, a lapdock is not a traditional laptop as it doesn’t have its own processor, storage, or operating system. Instead, it relies on a connected device for all the computing. Simply put, Lapdock provides a screen, keyboard, trackpad, speakers, battery, and ports, while your phone does all the computing. For Galaxy device users, this works well with Samsung DeX, which transforms a phone’s interface into a desktop-like environment.

The new NexDock 6 aims to maximize this desktop experience. The lapdock features a 14-inch 1920×1200 (16:10) touchscreen with 100% sRGB color coverage and 400 nits brightness. The company says it is sharper, brighter, and more accurate in color compared to previous generations. Thanks to its low-blue-light, fine anti-glare matte surface, the screen reduces reflections and makes it easier on the eyes during long work sessions.

The company has also improved the trackpad on the NexDock 6, making it much more responsive and consistent than its predecessors. The device supports multi-finger gestures and has better palm rejection, so your cursor stays put while typing. This makes working in DeX or other desktop modes more comfortable.

NexDock 6 also comes with an upgraded Audio system and battery life. The lapdock features dual 2W bottom-firing speakers that are louder and clearer than previous generations. Of course, it doesn’t replace a home theater system, but the sound is more than enough for YouTube, Netflix, calls, and day-to-day use. When not charging the connected phone, its 38Wh battery can provide around 6-7 hours of use at medium brightness.

As of now, the NexDock 6 is available for order at $229 (plus shipping). Since it ships from Hong Kong, shipping charges might be high. However, the company plans a local US stock coming in early 2026, so keep an eye out for it.
