LockStar is one of the most popular modules in Samsungโs Good Lock suite. Last month, the Korean firm released an update for LockStar to make it compatible with One UI 7. However, it looks like the update carries some bugs, too, as some users have complained about overlapping widget issues with the quick settings and notification panel. Thankfully, Samsung is aware of the problem and is working on the fix.
LockStar on One UI 7 faces widget overlap issue, Samsung acknowledges bug
In a community post, a One UI 7 user said some added widgets on the lock screen are showing up in the quick settings and notification panel. The user further said that rebooting the device solved the issue for a while, but it appeared again. While we couldnโt reproduce the bug, the problem is real, as confirmed by a forum moderator from the Good Lock support team.
โThe phenomenon of sticker images added through LockStar being visible when the quick panel is lowered will be improved through a future S/W update,โ the moderator responded to the complaint. Although the overlapping issues might occur on multiple widgets, the moderator mentions only the sticker widget. This widget allows users to add stickers to their lock screen, with resize, rotate, and transparency options.
The moderator further says that because the software update schedule and improvements keep changing, they cannot provide a specific timeline for rolling out the improved version. Right now, there are no workarounds available to fix the issue. So, users have to wait for the release of the improved version of LockStar.
Due to major structural changes, Samsung took longer to make LockStar compatible with One UI 7. The new version lets users access LockStar in a new way in One UI 7. The module now plugs in directly with the native lock screen editor, which allows users to access customization settings just by long-pressing on the lock screen.
