Samsung’s Now Brief, a feature introduced with the Galaxy S25, has been found hidden in the latest One UI 7 beta build for older Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24. While it remains uncertain whether Samsung plans to officially roll out Now Brief to previous models, its presence in the beta firmware suggests that the company may at least be testing the possibility.
Adding to the intrigue, the traces of Now Brief in the One UI 7 beta reveal two additional options not currently available on the Galaxy S25: Battery Status and Blocked Messages. These features could provide users with quick access to battery health updates and blocked message notifications directly within Now Brief.
Now Brief may get more features with next week’s One UI 7 release
While Samsung shipped the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7 out of the box, it isn’t the final build. As we have seen with recent beta releases for the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6, the company is still adding new features, such as media player support for Live Notifications. Samsung also improved the charging animation with the new beta builds.
The Korean firm is now gearing up to roll out the stable One UI 7 update for older models, starting on April 7. The Galaxy S25 series should also receive a new update with additional features and UI improvements. It looks like Now Brief will get an upgrade too, adding Battery Status and Blocked Messages options.
For the uninitiated, Now Brief is an expandable UI element on the lock screen offering quick access to relevant information depending on what you are doing or the current time. It’s a handy tool that enhances your efficiency and helps improve productivity. We will soon find out if Samsung brings this feature to more Galaxy devices with the One UI 7 update.
