Samsung’s One UI 7.0 beta update may not arrive anytime soon. It was initially rumored to drop on July 29, but that obviously didn’t happen. There were hopes the company would release the first beta build in early August, but that looks unlikely too. A fresh leak says Samsung has delayed One UI 7.0 beta programs to the third week of August. It plans to complete the One UI 6.1.1 rollout before shifting its focus to the new version.
One UI 7.0 beta has been delayed because of One UI 6.1.1
Samsung introduced One UI 6.1.1 with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 earlier this month. The new version still runs Android 14 at its core but offers new AI features, camera improvements, and other tweaks over One UI 6.1, the previous build debuted with the Galaxy S24 series in January. As usual, the Korean firm will push the new features to compatible older foldables, tablets, and flagship models.
As of this writing, it has yet to roll out One UI 6.1.1 to any older model. It appears the rollout will begin later this week or early next week. Samsung might need at least a couple of weeks to bring the new One UI version to all supported devices. Non-foldable smartphones may get the update as a new One UI 6.1 build but with the same set of features. The Galaxy S24 Ultra should also pick additional camera improvements.
To avoid confusion and ensure proper testing of One UI 7.0, Samsung plans to start beta programs once One UI 6.1.1 is rolled out to all eligible models. This means the beta update may not arrive before the third week of August. Leaks have already revealed a lot about One UI 7.0. Samsung has redesigned the UI and app icons and introduced several new features, including a Dynamic Island-like Live Activities tool. Stay tuned for the official announcement.
