We know that Samsung is working on debuting a tri-fold soon. Samsung teased its inclusion in the release roadmap during the January Unpacked event, and since then, we’ve heard a lot about it. However, despite all these leaks, much of it is still remains a big mystery. A new report now details at least two regions where the Samsung tri-fold could launch, according to the GSMA database.
GSMA database reveals some more details about Samsung’s tri-fold
SmartPrix spotted two model numbers in the GSMA database, which could very well belong to Samsung’s tri-fold device. According to the report, the first model has the number SM-F968N. We’ve seen this model number before, confirming that “N” is intended for South Korea, courtesy of GalaxyClub. The new report also mentions another model number, SM-F9680, where the “0” suffix indicates it’s meant for China, according to the report.
These alleged tri-fold models are listed under the official market name, Q7M. This aligns with previous information from GalaxyClub. It confirmed that Samsung could be working on two models in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 lineup. One of which could be the tri-fold phone.
It’s known that devices typically appear on the GSMA database about six months prior to launch, as mentioned in the report. By that logic, it suggests that Samsung could debut the tri-fold around the fall. This seems a bit early, considering leaker yeux1111 tipped that the tri-fold could launch in early 2026. The assumption is that Samsung could debut the tri-fold in South Korea and China in the fall and release it in the US and other markets later.
The report also suggests that Samsung’s tri-Fold won’t release under the W-series brand. Last year, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition was launched as the Galaxy W25 in China. But this time, the tri-Fold won’t follow that naming convention. Some reports suggest Samsung’s tri-fold could launch as Galaxy G Fold.
