Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in January could be a massive one. Alongside the Galaxy S25 series, which reportedly includes a fourth Slim model, the company may launch a new pair of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses and the Galaxy Ring 2. The event is rumored to take place on January 22, 2025, in San Jose, USA.
Galaxy Ring 2 may launch at the next Unpacked in January
Samsung is widely rumored to launch a fourth Galaxy S25 “flagship” model next year — the existing FE lineup isn’t considered a true-blue flagship. The company has prepared a Slim model with premium cameras, top-notch display, and other high-end specs. While early rumors suggested it will go official in the second quarter, recent leaks have hinted at a full launch in January alongside the rest of the lineup.
A new report now says Samsung will introduce at least two more products at the next Unpacked. The company reportedly plans to unveil its AR smart glasses next month. Interestingly, the Korean firm recently announced an XR headset. There have been rumors about the company developing smart glasses. In fact, it was widely expected to first launch the glasses and then follow up with an XR headset.
Maybe the glasses are now ready for prime time, we shall find out soon. The unnamed headset doesn’t yet have a release date or price tag. Samsung could announce those details at Unpacked and tease the glasses. They will reportedly resemble conventional eyewear and weigh just about 50 grams. Developed in collaboration with Qualcomm and Google, the glasses offer Google Gemini-powered AI experiences.
Additionally, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Ring 2 in January. The second-gen model will come in 11 sizes and offer more accurate health data with improved sensors and advanced AI functionalities. It may also boast a longer battery life and a slimmer design. Expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks as Samsung prepares for the big event next month.
