Samsung’s smart glasses might be exactly what you’re looking for, especially if you already wear prescription glasses. The feeling of having something ‘smart’ right on your eyes is actually pretty cool. I’d say the same about AR/VR headsets, but unfortunately, they’re still quite bulky, unless Samsung manages to change that. Reports suggest that Samsung’s smart glasses could weigh around 50 grams, which would make them a much more comfortable companion.
Samsung’s smart glasses are readying for 2026 launch, now
The same rumors also suggested that Samsung’s smart glasses could launch in the third quarter. To be more precise, the initial reports pointed to a Q3 2025 debut, which, in a way, still holds. But now, a new report from KEDGlobal suggests we might be waiting for Samsung’s smart glasses until 2026 launch instead. So forget even the fourth quarter. This delay makes sense, especially with Samsung ramping up to launch its Android XR device, known as Project Moohan.
According to KEDGlobal, the smart glasses are actually an extension of Project Moohan, which was also teased at Samsung’s January 2025 Unpacked event. The device runs on Android XR, a platform co-developed by Google and Samsung to go head-to-head with competitors like Apple and Meta in the XR and headset space.

A prototype of the glasses was even demonstrated publicly by Google VP Shahram Izadi during TED2025 in Vancouver, giving us a clearer glimpse of what to expect. The glasses appear to deliver real-time features like navigation, live translation, and message summaries. And yes, we could also see Gemini AI baked in, which is becoming a standard across Samsung’s latest lineup. A recent development also suggested that Samsung’s smart glasses could join Android Auto for better navigation.
On the hardware side, rumors from last year hinted at a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera, a 155mAh battery, and a total weight of just 50 grams. Honestly, we’re just as excited as you are to see how it all comes together. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated with the latest as it unfolds.
