Samsung sells its refurbished devices through a program called Certified Re-Newed. Until today, the program was only available in the US and South Korea. Now, Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed devices are also available in France, Germany, and the UK.

Samsung Certified Re-Newed program comes to France, Germany, and the UK

At the time of writing, Samsung is selling refurbished Galaxy S25 series — Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. A small detail: Samsung calls the program Certified Re-Newed in Germany and the UK, while in France it’s branded as Refurbished Premium by Samsung.

It’s a solid initiative that lets you save some money while also reducing environmental impact. According to Samsung, each device goes through a rigorous inspection and refurbishment process with more than 100 quality tests. The phones are then reconditioned using genuine Samsung parts.

“We’re excited to expand our Certified Re-Newed program in European markets to provide customers with more options for purchasing flagship devices,” said Samsung MX’s Jun Kim. “While contributing to the circular economy, we hope more customers can experience our latest innovations, including Galaxy AI.”

These devices ship in new packaging and include what you’d normally expect in the box. They also come with the same warranty as new Galaxy devices. One important detail Samsung highlights is that these phones receive new IMEI numbers.

Samsung says the devices ship with the latest software. The Galaxy S25 launched with One UI 7 out of the box and is promised seven years of OS and security updates. It’s already picked up the One UI 8 update, so buyers should get the One UI 8 experience from day one. That said, the seven-year update window is still calculated from the original launch date, not the purchase date.

There’s also an interesting trend in the Galaxy S25’s sales data. Most flagship phones slow down after an initial surge, but the Galaxy S25 series appears to be gaining momentum again, suggesting sustained demand.
