Samsung’s November 2024 update for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra smartwatches has begun rolling out to users in various countries. Initially released in South Korea, it is now reaching other regions. The update should soon be available to everyone globally.
Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra get the November update widely
Samsung shipped the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra with the outdated June 2024 security patch. It was widely criticized for not releasing timely security patches for its watches. The company is now addressing this issue with a new update for its latest watches.
The rollout began last week, with the Galaxy Watch 7 getting a roughly 250MB update in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. The Ultra model hadn’t received the November patch back then. However, the update is now rolling out to both models globally, SamMobile confirms. The build number and size may vary depending on the model and region.
As usual, you can check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your watch. Alternatively, you can update via the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone.
This update for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra comes just as Samsung rolls out One UI 6 Watch to other models. Based on Wear OS 5, this update brings several new features to improve user experience. Galaxy AI enhances health and fitness tracking, offering personalized insights like Energy Scores and detailed sleep analysis. The update also introduces new watch faces, fitness features, and better battery management.
Debuted on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, One UI 6 Watch is rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6. The Galaxy Watch FE should also receive it soon. This phased rollout will reach all supported devices in the coming weeks. Older models may not be compatible with some new features or watch faces, though.
