Samsung Reaffirms One UI 7 Stable Rollout Starts April 10 In US

by | Mar 24, 2025 | News, One UI

To say the One UI 7.0 release has been a roller coaster would be an understatement. After months of beta testing, Samsung announced the official stable release timeline last week. The initial press release indicated that the rollout begins April 7 in select markets on select Galaxy models and would expand to other countries and models later in April. A few days later, Samsung clarified that the rollout would start on April 10 in the US, on the S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. That post mysteriously disappeared from the Samsung US newsroom late last week. This left us in limbo, wondering if the release would happen on time.

Luckily, the removal of the newsroom announcement appears to be a fluke. Samsung reached out to us via email to point out that the newsroom post is back and that the stable One UI 7.0 launch is on time for an April 10 release in the US. Hooray!

Samsung did not tell us why the post disappeared last week, but who really cares at this point. What matters is that Galaxy fans finally get a taste of One UI 7.0 in stable form. Keep in mind, the stable rollout will still happen in stages, as with any Samsung software update. This means that carrier-locked models of the S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 will get the update at different times. The past few years, T-Mobile seems to be the fastest with pushing out major One UI updates.

If you’re running an unlocked model of these eligible devices, you may have to wait even longer. Lately, Samsung pushes monthly security patches to unlocked models well after the carrier locked units. In fact, the unlocked Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t even have the March 2025 security patch as of writing. One UI 7 is certainly an exciting release and we can’t wait for more Galaxy fans to get their hands on it. Some of the key features include:

  • Bold new design with simplified home screen, updated widgets, and a more cohesive visual experience
  • Now Bar: Real-time updates like fitness tracking and media controls right from the lock screen
  • AI Select: Smart suggestions and actions like turning video clips into GIFs
  • Writing Assist: Summarize or format notes with AI in Samsung Notes
  • Drawing Assist: Create images from sketches or text prompts
  • Audio Eraser: Remove background noise from videos with AI
  • Deeper Google Gemini integration for natural, conversational control

Not all Galaxy models will receive every feature on the list, but the S24 series and Z Fold 6 are in line for everything mentioned above. The Now Brief appears to be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series for now. We expect a range of devices to receive One UI 7.0 in April 2025, check out our full list to see when your device might get the latest and greatest from Samsung.
