Amid widespread speculation of a substantial price hike for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung surprised fans and industry watchers by keeping prices unchanged in most markets. Where increases did occur, they were far less significant than the rumors suggested. This trend might extend to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The new foldables are said to cost as much as their predecessors.
Samsung might keep Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 prices unchanged
Before the official launch of the Galaxy S25 series, reports hinted at steep price increases due to rising production costs. Some said Samsung might increase prices by over $100, depending on the model and storage variant. However, when the new flagships finally arrived, the official pricing structure told a different story. Samsung retained the same price points as the Galaxy S24 in most key markets, including the US.
Even in markets where prices did rise, the increases were relatively modest. A new leak suggests Samsung will take a similar approach with its next-gen foldable prices. According to X leaker @PandaFlashPro, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will come “with [the] same prices again in most of [the] markets.” If true, the US prices should remain unchanged. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 should start at $1,100 and the Fold 7 at $1,900.
Samsung did increase its foldable prices last year. Both the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 saw a $100 hike in their base prices compared to the Flip 5 and Fold 5. So it makes sense for the company to keep things in check this year. Samsung is working on a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE this year, alongside a more expensive tri-fold. As more details about these foldables emerge, we’ll keep you updated on their pricing and availability.
