Samsung has officially announced the One UI 9 Beta Program for the Galaxy S26 series. The company will roll out the first beta update for interested users later this week. As usual, beta access will remain restricted to select markets, so users in unsupported regions must wait until the stable release.

One UI 9 beta starts this week for the Galaxy S26 series

According to Samsung, Galaxy S26 users in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US will be able to enroll in One UI 9 Beta starting later this week through the Samsung Members app. The beta program may expand to additional devices in the coming months. However, Samsung is unlikely to launch beta in additional markets.

Samsung touts One UI 9 to bring “expanded creative tools, customization options, a more accessible mobile experience, and stronger protection against potential security threats.” The company also promises “enhanced protection against suspicious apps and potential threats.” When the system detects new high-risk apps, it “warns users, blocks execution and installation, and recommends deletion through security policy updates.”

Additionally, One UI 9 introduces several usability and creativity upgrades. Samsung Notes gains new decorative tapes and additional pen styles, while the Contacts app now integrates Creative Studio for easier custom profile card creation. The Quick Panel becomes more customizable with independently adjustable brightness, sound, and media controls, along with flexible sizing options.

Samsung has also improved accessibility with smoother Mouse Key cursor control, a unified TalkBack package, and a new Text Spotlight feature that enlarges selected text for easier reading.

The stable version of One UI 9 is expected to arrive in late July, alongside Samsung’s next-generation foldables. Those devices should showcase the full One UI 9 experience, including several new Galaxy AI capabilities debuting with the update. Older flagship Galaxy phones and foldables could begin receiving stable updates sometime around September or October.
