Samsung appears to have resumed the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S23 series after an unexpected pause earlier this week. The company hasn’t offered an explanation for the brief halt, but users in South Korea who had already installed One UI 8 are now receiving a new build that includes the October 2025 security patch. The update likely addresses the bugs found in the initial release, suggesting that users still on One UI 7 should soon receive a refined version of the update.

Galaxy S23 and S24 series users receive a new One UI 8 build with the October patch

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has paused One UI 8 updates for several Galaxy devices. While it quickly resumed the rollouts for some models, others saw a longer halt. The Galaxy S23 and S24 flagships also suffered these temporary halts in some regions, but the update is now live again.

As reported on X, the Galaxy S24 series (including Galaxy S24 FE) is receiving a new update with the build version CYJ3 in South Korea. The same build is also rolling out to the Galaxy S24 FE, including the October security patch. The new update for the S23 lineup carries the build version EYJ7. The rollout began recently, so it could take a while to reach all users.

It’s worth noting that Samsung didn’t halt the One UI 8 update for these phones globally. In fact, the Galaxy S24 series has already received the October security patch in some regions, well before Samsung paused the rollout in Korea. It’s all very fragmented, so we won’t be surprised if the latest release doesn’t roll out globally. Nonetheless, if you are using a Galaxy S24 or S23 series on One UI 8, you should keep an eye out.
