Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is starting to take shape. The company teased the upcoming flagship smartphone during Unpacked yesterday. A prototype showcased at the event revealed its design and confirmed a dual rear camera setup. We now have a release timeline for the phone, though an exact launch date is still missing.
Galaxy S25 Edge to launch around April
Wednesday’s Galaxy unpacked event ended with Samsung teasing the Galaxy S25 Edge. The company said nothing much about the device itself, but it did showcase the phone to visitors who attended the Galaxy S25 launch in San Jose, USA. The device looks incredibly thin — rumored to be just 6.4mm thick — and sports a dual camera setup on the back.
While the official specs are under wraps, leaks have given us something to talk about. For what’s it with, the Galaxy S25 Edge, previously referred to as the Galaxy S25 Slim, was once rumored to sport a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom on the back. It’s unclear which of these gets an axe. We hope Samsung removed the ultrawide camera.
The Galaxy S25 Edge may feature a 6.7-inch display, likely the same panel as the Galaxy S25+ — it is expected to sit between the Plus and Ultra in terms of specs and pricing. The phone should run the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset as the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup. An ultra-thin design means the battery capacity is only 3,900mAh.
Finally, coming to the launch date, a Samsung representative revealed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will hit the shelves “around” April. This could mean sometime in April or early May, a timeline reported in previous leaks. Expect more leaks and rumors about the new slim flagship in the coming weeks.
