As Samsung prepares to release One UI 7 in April, it is rolling out the March security update to more eligible Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy A15 recently received this month’s security patch. They joining dozens of other models that have picked up the latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) over the past three weeks or so.

Galaxy S21 FE and more get Samsung’s March security update

Unlike One UI updates, these monthly security patches do not bring any new features. Instead, they focus on enhancing device security and patching loopholes and vulnerabilities across various system services and components. The March 2025 SMR for Galaxy devices addresses over 50 vulnerabilities, at least 11 of which are critical flaws.

The Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S21 FE is receiving the March update in Europe and Asia with the firmware build number G990B2XXSBGYC1. For the Galaxy A53, Samsung has begun the rollout in South America. Its March update bears the build number A536EXXSDEYBD. The Galaxy A25 is another Samsung phone getting the March SMR. The update is available in Asia with the build number A256EXXS7BYC3.

Finally, the Korean firm’s latest expansion of the March security update reaches the Galaxy A15. It is also initially getting the update in Asia, with the new build number being A156EDXS5BYB1. Samsung will soon roll out the March SMR for these devices in more markets, including the US.

All of these Galaxy smartphones are eligible for Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 update. As mentioned above, the rollout begins in April, starting on April 7. However, it will be a staggered release, so not everyone will get it on the same day. Some Galaxy users may have to wait until May or June to receive One UI 7 on their phones. You can always check for updates from the Settings app.
