Two best friends, or worst enemies, depending on how you see them. That’s Tom and Jerry for cartoons, and in the tech world, it’s Samsung and Apple. Their history of rivalry is both fascinating and profitable. Really.

Samsung is on full roast mode as Apple prepares to launch iPhone 17 series

Apple doesn’t usually go out of its way to mock Samsung, but Samsung never hesitates to take a jab when the chance arises. This time, the company is teasing Apple for falling behind in innovation, specifically in the foldable smartphone space. In a new Instagram video, Samsung both pokes fun at Apple and proudly highlights what its Galaxy AI can already do.

You can watch the ad on Instagram, embedded below. Over the years, the company has built a reputation for these tongue-in-cheek campaigns, where Apple is often the target. Whether you find them cheeky or petty, there’s no denying they grab attention. And right now, Samsung arguably has the right to boast, given how far ahead it is in foldables and AI smarts.

Apple, on the other hand, is gearing up for a launch event in just two weeks. The iPhone 17 series is coming, but it won’t have a foldable iPhone. Multiple reports have confirmed that Apple’s first attempt at a foldable may not arrive until late 2026. That gives Samsung some nice months of bragging rights. In fact, reports also say that Samsung Display will help Apple with its debut foldable. Remember the business line I put in earlier?

The second jab is a little subtler but just as stinging. Samsung shows Apple’s relatively slow progress in AI, noting that while iPhone users enjoy tools like Image Playground, they still can’t match the breadth and versatility of Galaxy AI. And until Apple catches up, expect Samsung to keep enjoying the spotlight and the mockery.
