Samsung has launched a Bluetooth-only Galaxy Watch Ultra variant. Previously, the watch was exclusively available as an LTE model. The new model is more affordable, opening up the robust and powerful smartwatch to a wider audience. The company has not yet confirmed whether the Bluetooth version will be available globally.
Galaxy Watch Ultra gets a Bluetooth version
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung’s most powerful smartwatch yet, and the first-ever Ultra-branded model. While it shares the chipset and software features with the Galaxy Watch 7, the Ultra has a robust design and a big battery. It also offers an extra action button, letting you quickly execute tasks or open frequently used apps.
The 47mm watch boasts a 1.5-inch circular AMOLED touchscreen display with 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Its Dual Frequency GPS technology, 10ATM waterproofing, IP68 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H durability certification, and grade 4 titanium body make the Galaxy Watch Ultra the perfect smartwatch for power users and professionals.
Additionally, Samsung’s One UI 6 Watch software provides access to a wide range of health and fitness features. The watch also offers AI-powered health experiences and can automatically detect and track various physical activities and workouts. You can read our Galaxy Watch Ultra review for more insights.
Announced alongside the new foldables in July, Samsung released the Galaxy Watch Ultra in a single LTE variant. It didn’t even offer multiple sizes, let alone launch a Bluetooth version for those who do not require LTE connectivity on their smartwatch. The company has finally introduced a Bluetooth-only model, opening up the wearable to more people.
As of this writing, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra Bluetooth in Indonesia. Sales begin on Friday, December 6, with the company pricing the watch at IDR 8,999,000, which converts to approx. $565. It is unclear if Samsung will release the new model in other markets. Meanwhile, the LTE model is currently available with a flat discount of $160, dropping its price from $650 to $490.
