Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone lineup with the launch of the Galaxy M47. The new phone will go on sale in India later this week, with its availability likely expanding to additional markets soon. It may not arrive in the US, though.

Galaxy M47 launched with an impressive feature set

The Galaxy M47 is a well-rounded package with some impressive specs. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor (4nm), the device features 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It offers faster memory and storage technologies than many devices in its segment. The phone also has a hybrid microSD card slot that it shares with the secondary SIM slot.

On the front, you get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. There’s a 12MP front-facing camera under the centered punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, adding extra durability against scratches and accidental drops. Samsung also claims dust and water resistance.

On the back, the Galaxy M47 has a triple camera setup housed in a vertical array. You get a 50MP primary camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) and support for 4K video recording. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor.

One of the Galaxy M47’s standout additions is Bypass Charging. Instead of charging the battery while you’re gaming, the feature can power the phone directly from the charger, reducing battery heat and helping maintain consistent performance during extended sessions. For everyday usage, the device packs a massive 6,000mAh cell with support for 45W wired charging.

The Galaxy M47 ships with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung is promising six generations of Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates, extending flagship-level software support to another mid-range Galaxy phone.

The software experience also includes several AI-powered features, including Circle to Search, AI Object Eraser, Edit Suggestions, AI transcription, Now Bar, Voice Focus, Google Gemini integration, Samsung Wallet with NFC support, Knox Vault security, and an on-device voicemail feature. The Galaxy M47 also has a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner.

Price and availability

Samsung has priced the Galaxy M47 starting at Rs 22,999 (roughly $250), including eligible card discounts, making it one of the company’s more feature-packed offerings in the segment. The handset will be available in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue color options. Sales begin on July 4 through Amazon India, coinciding with the retailer’s Prime Day sale.
