The Galaxy Club program was launched a few months ago with the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung removed it from the buy page for a while. The program is back now, but it still doesn’t offer good value to buyers. Samsung did not make any changes to the plan even after the re-issue of the program. For now, the program only applies to the US. You can join it for as low as $6.20 per month.
How the New Galaxy Club program works
The price of the Galaxy Club program varies, and you have to pay monthly. For the base model, it’s $6.20 per month. However, it’s $8.33 per month if you want the Galaxy S25 Ultra or the Galaxy S25 Plus. If you take this subscription-based membership, you can directly upgrade to the latest Galaxy device after 12 months.
The first step is to buy any model from the Galaxy S25 lineup from the Samsung website. You can choose any model except Verizon locked. Before checking out, you will have to choose the “New Galaxy Club Early Upgrade Program” option under the “New Galaxy Club and Samsung Care+” option.
Now, when you decide to upgrade, Samsung will cover the remaining installments themselves, or the company will give you a 50% trade-in value. It shall be based on the MSRP of the device. For new members, there are extra bonuses. You can get a free year of Samsung Care+ that will cover most of your repair charges, except for cases where you may lose the device. Samsung also tells us that Galaxy Club will offer a free storage upgrade or instant discount on Galaxy S25 purchases, starting March 14, 2025.
New Galaxy Club Isn’t For Everyone
If you love to upgrade every year, this offer probably isn’t for you. The standard trade-in value on direct purchase and the value given by the Galaxy Club program are not comparable for year over year upgrades. For instance, if you trade in a Galaxy S25 Ultra next year for the S26 Ultra, you’ll likely get $900 in trade credit. This applies even if you’re not in the Galaxy Club. The 50% offer would only net $650 trade-in credit on the base S25 Ultra. However, it is worth noting that the guaranteed 50% trade-in offer applies any time after 12 months. If you trade in your S25 Ultra after 5 years, the math certainly changes.
Those that upgrade every 3-4 years may find the Galaxy Club appealing. The 50% purchase value offer could result in a higher trade in credit after owning your current phone for at least 3 years. Combine this flexibility with the free storage upgrade or instant savings and you may have a winner for those on longer upgrade cycles.
