One UI 8 Stable Update Now Live for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in the US

More Galaxy devices have begun joining the stable One UI 8 party globally. Samsung is now pushing the Android 16-based update to its Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in the US. This comes nearly three days after the initial release in the home country, South Korea.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 get stable One UI 8 in the US

While Samsung’s latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip FE, run One UI 8 out of the box, last year’s foldable devices had to go through a beta program before picking up the stable build. This allowed the company to test new features on the older hardware with folding displays. Thankfully, the company quickly wrapped up the beta program, letting everyone get a taste of the new software.

Samsung is now seeding the stable One UI 8 update to carrier-locked US models of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The former receives the update with firmware version F956USQU2CYI7, while the latter gets F741USQU2CYI6. If you live in the US and own either of these models, you can check for new updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

That said, Samsung usually doesn’t take long to release the update for unlocked units after rolling it out to carrier-locked models. Unlocked users can expect the stable One UI 8 update to arrive within a few weeks. With One UI 8 for 2024 foldables, Samsung has deeply integrated the Galaxy AI features while optimizing the experience for cutting-edge form factors.

Meanwhile, the next major Android 16-based update, One UI 8.5, is making a lot of headlines. Based on what we have seen so far, the update seems quite feature-rich, along with design tweaks. However, One UI 8.5 will debut with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, with a gradual rollout to other eligible devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
