One UI 8 is Rolling Out to Galaxy M Devices, Starting with Galaxy M36

Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8 rollout for its Galaxy M lineup, starting with the Galaxy M36. The Android 16-based software will expand to additional models in the coming days, with the Galaxy F series also expected to join the rollout soon. This marks the beginning of a wider push to bring One UI 8 to Samsung’s budget smartphones and tablets.

Galaxy M36 grabs One UI 8 as Samsung expands the update

As usual, Samsung first released One UI 8 for recent flagships before expanding the rollout to the Galaxy A lineup. Now, the company has started updating Galaxy M devices to the new version. The Galaxy M36 leads the line, with the update initially rolling out in South Korea, where the device is known as the Galaxy Jump 4.

One UI 8 for this M series model carries the firmware build version M366KKSU2BYI4 in Korea, with the update bundling the September security patch. More importantly, it brings new features, enhanced customizations, UI improvements, camera upgrades, and more, essentially breathing new life into the phone. The update should soon hit the Galaxy M36 in other markets.

Samsung’s official One UI 8 roadmap sets a target to finish the rollout by the end of November. However, the company is already ahead of schedule. Several models have received the update earlier than planned, and more Galaxy devices are joining the list almost daily. Users should stay tuned, as the Android 16-based One UI 8 is spreading faster than expected.

To check for updates manually, go to Settings, enter the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. If an update is available, you’ll be prompted to download it. Note that One UI 8 is a massive release weighing over 3GB for some models, so connect to a stable Wi-Fi network if necessary. You’ll need to restart your device to complete the installation process.
