Samsung continues working on One UI 8.5 behind the scenes. Besides launching a public beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, it is internally testing the update for dozens of other models. Over the past few weeks, test builds for several mid-range and budget Galaxy devices have appeared on the official test servers. The latest devices to join the list are the Galaxy M34 and Galaxy F34.

Samsung begins One UI 8.5 testing for Galaxy M34 and Galaxy F34

Samsung has started the internal testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy M34. The new firmware has appeared on its test servers in India and Sri Lanka carrying the build number M346BXXU9FYL2. As usual, this does not mean that the update will roll out anytime soon. It only confirms that Samsung has begun working on One UI 8.5 for the device.

Likewise, Samsung is testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy F34 with the build version E346BXXU9FYL2. These devices join the Galaxy M54, Galaxy M17, and Galaxy F17 in the list of M and F series models under active testing. More budget devices are expected to enter the testing phase soon.

Both the Galaxy M34 and Galaxy F34 launched in 2023 with Android 13 out of the box. Samsung has promised four major Android OS updates for these models. This means they should receive updates up to One UI 9 based on Android 17. It will most likely be their final major OS upgrade by the end of 2026.

One UI 8.5, meanwhile, is shaping up to be a major update despite not carrying a new Android version. It is based on Android 16 QPR2 and brings noticeable UI refinements, improved customization options, new features, and enhanced blur effects across the system. The stable version will debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year and gradually expand to other devices.
