Samsung may have already changed One UI 7 icons since the SDC
At SDC earlier this month, Samsung gave us a sneak peek at One UI 7. We spotted several notable UI changes, including separate notifications shade and Quick Panel. The event also offered us a glimpse of the new app icons. The company updated the icons with more vibrant colors and a fresh design. However, Samsung may have already changed those.
According to prolific leaker Ice Universe, Samsung has replaced several icons in the latest internal build of One UI 7. It introduced new designs for Gallery, Phone, Camera, Recorder, Contacts, Samsung Notes, and many other first-party apps. “The new icons are more reasonable and better looking than before,” the tipster claims, though they didn’t give us any visuals.
The multi-colored Gallery icon now has a red-dominated color tone. There have been mixed reactions to the multi-colored icon we saw at SDC. Samsung is probably keeping an eye on user feedback and fine-tuning One UI 7 accordingly. Some of the app icons looked hideous the last time we saw them, so any changes in the right direction are always welcome.
Samsung is expected to begin One UI 7 beta testing in December. However, the stable update won’t arrive before the Galaxy S25 launch in early January. The new flagships will ship with One UI 7.1. The company will gradually update other eligible models to the new version after the flagship launch. We will keep you posted with the latest information as Samsung continues to work on the update.
