Samsung’s Good Lock app is one of the most robust customization suites available on any Android smartphone. The app comes with several modules that enable a variety of functionality that make Galaxy phones more robust. Galaxy users can customize the look and feel of their phone, as well as several key usability aspects. New versions of One UI often come with brand new Good Lock modules and it looks like One UI 7.0 will be no exception! According to a moderator on the Samsung Community forums, the company is exploring the addition of a new Good Lock Gaming module in One UI 7.0. Originally discovered by X user Yash Rathore, the community post details some of the key functionality that the new module could offer.
Good Lock Module and Game Booster Optimizations Coming
One of the most appealing features for gamers could be the introduction of custom gamepad mapping in Good Lock. The moderator explicitly instructs users to provide feedback on which aspects of custom gamepad mapping they would be likely to use. This would be a massive advantage for Galaxy gaming enthusiasts, particularly when compared to the iPhone’s limited gaming chops.
In addition to development of a new Good Lock module for gaming, Samsung is also revamping the current Game Booster app. Game Booster already provides significant customization for gamers on Galaxy devices, but it is poorly organized and implemented (according to the community post in question). It appears Samsung will take usage patterns and user feedback into account and optimize Game Booster tailed to the preferences of the most active users. With all of these gaming optimizations, One UI 7.0 could be a massive update for gamers. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the leading gaming phone when it arrives in January 2025.
