One UI 7.0 beta, which Samsung debuted today for the Galaxy S24 series (except FE), packs a punch of features. One standout feature that will likely help you every day is the advanced writing assist tools.
One UI 7.0 beta includes new AI-powered writing assist tools
Samsung’s latest One UI 7.0 brings writing assist tools that help with summarizing, checking spelling, fixing grammar errors, changing writing style, formatting notes into bullet points, and composing text.
It’s undeniably going to be used frequently in your daily life, whether you’re a university student, a working professional, or someone who has had to rely on third-party grammar-checking tools. It’s quite similar to the one found in Apple’s AI. I’ve tried that, and it’s half-baked — awful at the moment. So, I have high hopes for Samsung and how well it performs.
You can simply select the text, and you’ll see five options: Spelling, Writing Style, Summarize, Bullet Points, and Composer. The names are pretty straightforward and do what they promise, though I’ve yet to try the feature on longer texts to see how well it summarizes them. One huge benefit of this new tool is that you can now use the Galaxy AI Writing Assist tools with 3rd party keyboards like Gboard!
There’s one drawback, however
General users could see writing assist as a perfect replacement for third-party grammar tools — ditch them already, maybe. However, there is one drawback. You may not use One UI 7.0’s writing assist tools on older Galaxy phones that don’t support Galaxy AI.
One reason why you should consider using it is that One UI 7.0’s writing assist tools operate on-device, rather than relying on cloud services. While the cloud-based option is obviously more convenient, those who value privacy and security will likely appreciate the on-device approach.
The anticipation for One UI 7.0 beta was huge. And now that it’s finally here, we can’t wait for it to roll out to the S23 and more. In fact, excitement is already building for the stable version of One UI 7.0.
