Samsung is still not ready to release the One UI 6 Watch update globally. It just announced a new beta version for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4. The beta program for the Watch 6 has already ended but the stable update isn’t available to everyone. There’s no word yet on its release.
Samsung drops another One UI 6 Watch beta update
Last month, Samsung finally concluded One UI 6 Watch beta testing for the Galaxy Watch 6 series, even rolling out a stable build to beta testers. A global release of this update for all eligible models was anticipated, but it hasn’t yet extended beyond the Watch 6 beta testers. Meanwhile, for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4, the company just released another beta update.
This is the eighth One UI 6 Watch beta build for the two smartwatch lineups — the Watch 6 series also received eight beta updates before the stable rollout. The latest release comes with firmware version ZXK1 and brings nothing more than bug fixes. Samsung has it has optimized system performance for enhanced stability, improved power consumption and addressed network issues.
A brief changelog suggests that the One UI 6 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 is nearing its end. However, given Samsung’s slower pace with this year’s major One UI updates, we aren’t quite optimistic. This update has been in beta testing since June, well before the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra shipped with One UI 6 Watch out of the box.
The situation is worse in the smartphone and tablet segment. Samsung has yet to begin its One UI 7.0 beta testing. Last year, it started One UI 6.0 beta programs in August and released the stable version in late October. Recent rumors suggest the One UI 7.0 beta will finally drop next week. Hopefully, Samsung will also soon begin a global rollout of the One UI 6 Watch. We will keep you posted.
