Samsung has released a new One UI 6 Watch beta update for the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6 series. It fixes some bugs present in the previous build and introduces the Global AOD feature. The update also contains battery optimizations and other functional improvements. The stable One UI 6 Watch rollout could begin anytime now.
New One UI 6 Watch beta update prepares for the stable rollout
Introduced with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, One UI 6 Watch is the latest version of Samsung’s custom watch platform. It is based on Wear OS 5 and brings several new features and improvements to the Galaxy Watch lineup. The Korean firm has been testing the new version for its other Wear OS watches — Galaxy Watch 4 to 6 — long before releasing the new models.
It has already rolled out several beta builds. A new One UI 6 Watch beta update is now available for all models. It comes with firmware version ZXH4 (the last four digits of the build number) and introduces the Global Always On Display (AOD) feature. As said earlier, the update also contains several other changes as Samsung prepares for the stable rollout of the new version.
Unfortunately, the company hasn’t specified a timeline yet. It is already struggling to bring One UI 6.1.1 from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 to older models. Its Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is also facing a delay, with no release date in sight. Samsung reportedly plans to address minor bugs on its own before opening a public beta program, hence the indefinite delay.
The company is now expected to release the One UI 6.1.1 update (a new One UI 6.1 update for non-folding phones) later this week or in early September. The One UI 7.0 beta may follow soon, with the One UI 6 Watch also seeing a public rollout around the same time. Exciting times are ahead for Galaxy users. We will let you know when Samsung officially confirms it all.
