Samsung has begun the wider rollout of the One UI 6.1.1 update for its 2022 flagships in the US. The Galaxy S22 series, Tab S8 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Flip 4 are picking up the new feature update nationwide. The company has already updated these devices to the new One UI version globally.
One UI 6.1.1 is widely rolling out to the Galaxy S22 and others in the US
Samsung originally left out the Galaxy S22 Ultra and other 2022 flagships from its One UI 6.1.1 announcement. It only mentioned devices released in 2024 and 2023. However, unsurprisingly, the new One UI version did make it to older models. The company released the update in Korea last week, followed by a global expansion earlier this week.
Users in the US also received the One UI 6.1.1 update, but it has been a limited rollout initially. Samsung recently expanded the update nationwide. The Galaxy S22 series is receiving the new One UI version with the firmware build number S90*USQU6EXH8, Fold 4 with F936USQU6GXH7/ F936U1UEU6GXH8, and Flip 4 with F721USQU6GXH7/ F721U1UEU6GXH8.
This update also includes the September security patch, which addresses 67 vulnerabilities, including one critical issue. However, we are more interested in One UI 6.1.1 goodies It introduces new AI features, camera enhancements, gallery improvements, and various other updates. One of the most notable new AI tools is the “Sketch to Image” feature.
Debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in July, this tool allows users to draw non-existent objects on their photos or turn rough sketches into polished drawings. With Samsung almost done with One UI 6.1.1 rollouts, we may soon get the taste of One UI 7.0. The company is expected to begin beta testing next month. The Galaxy S24 series will receive it first, though the Galaxy S22, Fold 4, and Flip 4 should also get One UI 7.0 beta programs. We will let you know when we have more information.
