After months of waiting and a whirlwind of rumors, Samsung has finally lifted the curtain on its Galaxy S25 series at Galaxy Unpacked. The event went down in San Jose on January 22, and right after that, Samsung kicked off pre-orders for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. We also got our first official glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Slim, but just as the rumors suggested, it won’t be hitting the shelves just yet — it’s coming a bit later.

Galaxy S25 series packs Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy everywhere

It’s been buzzing for a while that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series would pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but some benchmarks hinted at possible Exynos chips under the hood too. Now that the release is official, we know for sure that the Galaxy S25 series is rocking the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy across all markets — yes, that includes India, Europe, and others.

And, of course, with pre-orders come some sweet perks, including our Mystery Box program. If you pre-order through this program (link below), you’ll score some guaranteed gifts along with your device — and no extra shipping fees. Plus, there’s a chance to win Amazon gift cards, Google Play gift cards, Galaxy wearables, or even a free Galaxy phone. All of this at no extra cost. But here’s the catch: once the pre-order window closes, so do the chances to claim these rewards, so you’ll want to act fast.

As for why Samsung opted for Snapdragon over its own Exynos chips, the likely reason is that Samsung Foundry’s low-yield rates in 3nm Exynos 2500 production weren’t up to snuff. To avoid cutting corners on flagship performance, Samsung went with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy instead. It’s an overclocked version with a faster CPU. That’s probably also why the Galaxy S25 series is priced a little higher than the S24 series in some markets.
