Since the past few weeks, there have been numerous reports that claimed that some Galaxy S25 variants will launch with the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. However, a new leak claims that the MediaTek Diemsnity 9400 SoC is completely off the table for the Galaxy S25 series. A tipster on X who goes by the username of @Jukanlosreve claims to have obtained some “exclusive” information about the negotiations between Samsung and MediaTek.
A tipster claims that the Galaxy S25 will exclusively use Snapdragon chips
As per the source, the negotiations between Samsung and MediaTek have shifted. Earlier, they had planned to include the Dimensity 9400 SoC in the vanilla Galaxy S25 variants. However, the strategy has changed and the brands are planning to include the Dimensity 9400 chip in the Galaxy S25 FE instead. Furthermore, the tipster claims that the Galaxy S25 series will exclusively use the Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm.

Unfortunately, the leaker didn’t reveal where they received this information from. Also, the tipster didn’t mention what will become of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 SoC. Previous reports have claimed that Samsung is struggling with the yield rate of its 3nm Exynos 2500 processor. The brand will cancel the in-house chipset and rely on external vendors for the Galaxy S25 series.
It’s worth mentioning that the same tipster previously claimed that Samsung will replace Exynos 2500 with Dimensity 9400. However, it appears that the scenario has changed again. There’s no way to confirm these reports at the moment. However, since the launch isn’t happening before four months in early 2025, we will have more information in the future.
It’s worth adding that another report confirmed the existence of the Galaxy S25 FE model, which is hardly surprising. The source also mentioned that Samsung could take Apple’s route and introduce next year’s Fan Edition model with a “Slim” branding. The brand could reduce the thickness of the vanilla Galaxy S25 to hype the Galaxy S25 Slim. We will update you more on the matter as soon as we hear anything, so stay in touch.
