Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition foldable smartphone at some point later this year. Ahead of the launch, the phone has already been leaked multiple times. The handset’s render already leaked last month, which gave us a look at the handset’s design. Now, another photo of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has surfaced, which gives us a look at the phone’s rear cameras.
Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will offer a different design for the rear cameras
Notably, popular tipster Evan Blass aka @evleaks has shared a photo of the upcoming foldable from Samsung. The new image of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has given us the best look yet at its rear cameras. As you can see in the photo, the device will have a different design for the rear camera island as compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will offer three rear shooters, just like the vanilla Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, the upcoming device will have a rectangular camera island as compared to a more rounded one on the previous model. Each of the main lenses will be surrounded by a black ring. The ring will be raised above the rest of the surface. The previously leaked photo showed that the handset’s LED flash unit will be placed on the right side of the rear cameras.
Special Edition of the foldable will flaunt a 200MP main camera
According to the reports, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could flaunt a 200MP primary camera at the rear. Notably, the main lens is expected to be similar to the one found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. To compare, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 50MP main camera at the rear. The main lens is accompanied by a 10MP secondary shooter and a 12MP third camera.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will also offer an improved 5MP under-display camera for selfies and video calling. That said, the new foldable is also expected to be just 10.6mm thick when folded. It will be slimmer than the Z Fold 6 which measures 12.1mm around the waist in the same mode. We will get more details about the upcoming foldable smartphone in the coming days.
