Following a series of leaked images over the past couple of weeks, a fresh glimpse of Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, has surfaced online. The new images come from the same source and show the power and volume buttons for the very first time. The rear camera design is still a mystery as no leak so far has shown the phone’s backside. Samsung will unveil the device in early 2025.
A fresh leak shows the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s button placement and design
After dropping several Galaxy S25 Ultra images on X, prolific leaker Ice Universe recently collaborated with @TekAvenue to create new images with more design details. They made two fresh renders showing the phone’s homescreen and lockscreen. More importantly, we finally get to see the button placement and design. Samsung was always going to keep the buttons on the right side, but we now have visuals.
As expected, the buttons are flat and do not protrude too much out of the frame. The overall button design doesn’t look too different from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, though we cannot say the same for the rest of the phone. The Galaxy S25 Ultra no longer has sharp corners, with Samsung opting for a curved finish. The curvature is smaller than most other curved phones, so the new Ultra still has a distinct identity.
Industry insiders say Samsung made this change to allow for a more comfortable handling of the device. It reduced the bezels to make the screen wider, even though the overall width has dropped a few mm — the Galaxy S25 Ultra is 77.6mm wide instead of 79mm but has a 73mm wide display instead of 72.3mm. X user @TekAvenue created renders to show how the phone would look with a matte and glossy finish.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S25 and S25+ in January 2025. The company has confirmed that the new flagships would use its in-house Exynos 2500 chipset, at least in some markets. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 should power the phones in the US.
